Samia Haq is a local politician and was elected to the position of Mayor in 2017, becoming the first Muslim female in Leicestershire. In this role she worked extensively with local businesses, community groups and charitable organisation.
As well as being involved in politics Samia runs her own successful business managing a varied property portfolio.
Samia has served as a School governor and she is currently a trustee at Oadby village hall trust, Oadby education trust and proud to have been involved in some great projects within Leicestershire. Samia gained her first class degree in politics from University of Leicester.
