Amna Rafiq – Leading Ladies Global

Amna Rafiq is a Community Engagement Officer for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. She started her cricket playing journey having joined a cricket club where she was the only girl and found herself having to train and compete against boys. It was this experience during her journey, that made Amna ‘want to make a difference for other girls’.

She was selected as the only female on the Young Yorkshire Leadership Academy and with the experience she gained there it lead to a 2 year marketing placement at Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

As Community Engagement Officer for Leicestershire County Cricket Club, Amna has drawn upon her range of experiences to set up and deliver exciting new projects. She is a level 2 coach and is an award winner having won both an Asian cricket award and the young volunteer award at the Yorkshire Cricket OSCA’s.

Balancing Sports Business Management research studies in West Yorkshire and her role at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, has proved challenging for Amna but with a determination to impact on the lives of young females through a sport that has given her so many opportunities, Amna leads the way for other young females. Amna has also supported aspiring coaches to fulfil their qualifications and continues to drive the women’s game in areas of low opportunity.
